[12.8] BI foils an attempt to smuggle four Arabs to the UK at NAIA

PASAY, Philippines – Immigration officers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) have thwarted an attempt by a trafficking syndicate to smuggle a family of four Arab Nationals into the UK.

According to Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner "Norman Tansingco," four passengers, a mother, and her three children were intercepted at NAIA terminal 3 last Nov. 23 after an attempt are about to board a Cathay Pacific flight to Hong Kong en route to their final destination in the UK. 

"Tansingco," said the aliens presented Seychelles passports to airlines and immigration officials who questioned the authenticity of travel documents.

An investigation conducted by BI's Forensic Documentation Laboratory confirmed that the passports presented were forged.

"They are currently under investigation by our legal department," "Tansingco," said.

"Tansingco," said the failed trafficking attempt was the work of an international syndicate seeking to use Manila as a transfer or drop-off point for victims.
