ILOILO, 필리핀—이민국(BI)은 요원들이 도쿄 당국이 수배 중인 또 다른 일본인 도망자를 강도, 갈취, 통신 사기 연루 혐의로 체포했다고 밝혔습니다.

노먼 탄싱코(Norman Tansingco) 이민국장은 체포된 외국인이 1월 17일 일로일로 구임발 항구에서 BI의 도망자 수색대(FSU) 요원들에 의해 체포된 43세의 "요헤이 야노"라고 밝혔습니다.

"Tansingco"는 "Yano"가 마닐라에서 BI의 도움을 받아 도망자를 찾는 데 도움을 요청한 마닐라의 일본 당국의 요청으로 체포되었다고 말했습니다.

BI 국장은 "그는 정의에서 도망친 사람이기 때문에 바람직하지 않은 외국인으로 추방될 것"이라고 덧붙였다.

BI-FSU의 '렌델 라이언 시(Rendel Ryan Sy)' 소장은 일본 야카이치(Yakkkaichi) 간이법원에 강도·공갈 등 혐의가 접수돼 지난해 8월 4일 구속영장을 발부받았다고 밝혔다.

싸이는 또 야노가 2019년 통신 사기 라켓을 운영한 것으로 알려진 일본 신디케이트의 불법 활동에 연루된 혐의로 조사를 받고 있다고 밝혔다.

[1.22] Japanese man wanted for robbery, extortion nabbed in Iloilo

ILOILO, Philippines—The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said its operatives arrested another Japanese fugitive wanted by authorities in Tokyo for robbery, extortion, and involvement in telecommunications fraud.

Immigration Commissioner "Norman Tansingco" identified the captured alien as a 43-year-old "Yohhei Yano," who was arrested on Jan. 17 in Guimbal Port, Iloilo by operatives from the BI’s fugitive search unit (FSU).

"Tansingco," said "Yano" was arrested at the request of the Japanese authorities in Manila which sought the BI’s help in locating the fugitive.

“He will be deported for being an undesirable alien, as he is a fugitive from justice,” the BI chief added.

BI-FSU chief "Rendel Ryan Sy" disclosed that an arrest warrant was issued by the summary court in Yakkaichi, Japan on Aug. 4 last year after charges of robbery and extortion were filed against him before the said court.

"Sy" also bared that "Yano" is being investigated for involvement in the illegal activities of a Japanese syndicate that was said to have operated a telecom fraud racket in 2019.

“He is also an undocumented alien as his passport was already revoked by the Japanese government,” "Sy" said.

The suspect is now detained at the BI warden facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending deportation proceedings.
