마닐라, 필리핀 - 이민국(BI) 국장 "Norman Tansingco"는 11월 22일 Muntinlupa에서 체포된 작업 주문 직원의 서비스를 종료했습니다.

이 직원은 다른 9명과 함께 NBI(National Bureau of Investigation) 직원으로 위장한 후 SPD(Southern Police District)에 의해 체포되었고 Ayala Alabang Village에 거주하는 중국인을 구금했으며 강도 미수 혐의로 기소되었습니다.

이 관계자는 체포 과정에서 이민국 직원에게 자신을 소개한 것으로 알려졌다.

탄싱코 측은 “기록을 확인한 결과 이민국 직원이 아닌 작업지시 직원임을 확인했다”고 말했다.

그는 "작업지시 직원으로서 체포할 권한이 없었고 간단한 사무 업무를 수행하도록 배정됐다"고 덧붙였다.

작업 주문 직원은 기관의 사무 서비스를 제공하기 위해 6개월 계약을 맺은 사무국의 계약직 직원입니다.

사건과 허위 진술을 알게 된 "탄싱코"는 해당 직원의 즉각 해고를 명령했습니다. BI는 또한 PNP와 긴밀히 협력하여 해당 직원에 대한 형사 고발이 이루어지도록 하고 있습니다.

[11.27] BI Terminate job order employee involved in extortion

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Bureau of Immigration Services (BI) Commissioner "Norman Tansingco" has terminated the services of a job order employee who was arrested in Muntinlupa on Nov. 22.

The employee, along with nine others, was arrested by an SPD (Southern Police District), after pretending himself as an NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) employee, detained a Chinese national living in Ayala Alabang Village, and was accused of attempted robbery.

The official reportedly introduced himself to an immigration officer during the arrest.

“Upon checking our records, we confirmed that he is not an immigration officer, but rather a job order employee,” said "Tansingco." 

“As a job order employee, he was not authorized to conduct arrests, and was assigned to do simple office tasks,” he added.

Job order employees are contractual personnel of the Bureau, with six months contracts to render office services for the agency.

Upon learning of the incident and the misrepresentation, "Tansingco," ordered the immediate termination of the said employee. The BI is also closely coordinating with the PNP to ensure that the filing of criminal charges against the employee is pursued.

“People like him tarnish the name of the Bureau that we work so hard to improve,” said "Tansingco." “We will not tolerate any such illegal activities, hence we immediately terminated his services, and he will continue to face the criminal charges that might be filed against him,” he said.
