이민국(BI)은 페이스북에서 직원의 사진과 정보를 사용하는 가짜 소셜 미디어 계정의 확산에 대해 경고했으며, 이는 대중이 그들과 거래하도록 오도한 것으로 의심되는 기관의 공식 인장을 모방한 것입니다.

BI 국장 "Norman Tansingco"는 여러 사기꾼들이 자신을 BI 직원으로 사칭하는 소셜 미디어 계정을 사용하고 있다는 보고가 있는 가운데 경고를 발령했습니다.

Tansingco는 "이 사기꾼들은 자신을 이민 변호사와 법무관으로 가장하는 것으로 알려졌습니다. 그들은 우리 직원의 사진, 배지, 심지어는 이민국 로고를 사용하여 프로필을 만듭니다"라고 말했습니다.

"Tansingco"는 BI 직원이 BI 시설 외부 및 근무 시간 외에 거래를 조정하고 수행할 권한이 없다고 거듭 강조했습니다.

Tansingco는 "과거에 가짜 소셜 미디어 프로필이 사기를 조장하고 사람들을 속여 돈을 빼냈다는 보고가 있었습니다."라고 말했습니다.

'탄싱코'는 점점 늘어나는 가짜 SNS에 안타까움을 표했다. 탠싱코 측은 “다른 사람의 신분을 가장하는 것은 불법이며, 정부 이름을 도용하는 사람에게 금품을 요구하는 것은 더욱 불법”이라고 말했다.

“BI는 인터넷 지인에 대해 대중에게 강력하게 경고합니다. 피해를 입지 않으려면 계속 노력해야 한다”고 덧붙였다.

그는 이미 사이버 범죄 조사 및 조정 센터(CICC)와 만나 사이버 범죄 관련 문제 및 BI 운영에 영향을 미치는 기타 우려 사항을 논의했다고 밝혔습니다.

[10.6]] Immigration warns against fake social media accounts

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) warned against the proliferation of fake social media accounts on Facebook using the photos and information of its employees and which mimic the official seal of the agency allegedly to mislead the public into transacting with them.

BI Commissioner "Norman Tansingco" issued the warning amidst reports that several scammers are using social media accounts impersonating themselves as BI employees.

"These scammers reportedly disguise themselves as immigration lawyers and legal officers. They create profiles using photos of our employees, their badges, and even the logo of the bureau," Tansingco shared."

"Tansingco" then reiterated that BI employees are not authorized to coordinate and make transactions outside BI facilities and outside office hours.

“There have been reports in the past that fake social media profiles fueled fraud and tricked people out of their money,” "Tansingco," said.

"Tansingco"  expressed his dismay towards the increasing number of fake social media pages. “It is illegal to disguise another person's identity, and even more so to demand money from anyone using the government’s name,” said "Tansingco."

“The BI strongly warns the public against internet acquaintances. Remain keen to avoid being victimized,” he added.

He shared that they have already met with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) to discuss cybercrime-related issues and other concerns that affect BI's operations.
