[8.26] MMDA Deploys 9 Vehicles for Free-Ride in Commonwealth

The Metropolitan Manila Development Agency stepped up Free Rides on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City to accommodate more commuters, especially students, days after face-to-face classes resumed.

During the actual deployment, the acting MMDA President, "Carlo Dimayuga III," said he was deploying seven buses and two military trucks to transport commuters from Doña Carmen to Welcome Rotonda.

"The Commonwealth's Free Ride program is expected to benefit 500 to 600 passengers a day, and we consider continuing it until December this year," he said.

Free-Rides are available to all commuters in the area from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Mayor of Quezon City "Joy Belmont," who was with them during the activities, thanked MMDA for the Free Ride program, which he said would be particularly helpful for students who commute every day.
