쇼핑몰 운영자에게 공개된 각서 회람에서 "Artes"는 "따라서 앞서 고려한 내용에 따라 메트로 마닐라의 쇼핑몰은 이제 2022년 12월 23일부터 오전 9시부터 운영을 시작할 수 있습니다."라고 인용했습니다.

MMDA 국장은 해당 메모의 목적이 대중에게 마지막 순간에 크리스마스 쇼핑을 할 수 있는 더 많은 시간을 주기 위한 것이라고 말했습니다.

참고로 MMDA와 쇼핑몰 운영자는 영업 시간을 오전 11시에서 오후 11시로 조정하기로 합의했습니다. 휴가 시즌이 시작될 때 메트로 마닐라의 교통 혼잡을 줄이기 위한 개선 조치 중 하나로 평소 영업 시간 대신 11월 14일부터 시작됩니다.

[12.22] MMDA: Shopping Malls in Metro May Resume Normal Schedule

Shopping malls in Metro Manila may resume their normal operating hours, said the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

MMDA Acting Chairman Atty. "Romando Artes," said, "due to pre-emptive measures, the anticipated traffic problems during the Christmas season did not come to pass, and an easing in the flow of traffic in Metro Manila’s thoroughfares has been observed despite the increase in Christmas-related activities."

"Thus, foregoing considered, shopping malls in Metro Manila may now begin operation as early as 9 a.m. starting December 23, 2022," cited "Artes," in a memorandum circular released to shopping mall operators.

The MMDA chief said the purpose of the said memo is to give the public more time to do their last-minute Christmas shopping.

To be recalled, the MMDA and shopping mall operators agreed to adjust their operating hours to 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. beginning November 14 instead of their usual business hours as one of the remedial measures to reduce traffic congestion in Metro Manila at the onset of the holiday season.
