입양-A-공원 프로젝트 하에 있는 첫 번째 공원은 지난 2월에 개장된 바랑가이 비그네이에 있는 MMDA-발렌주엘라 시 우정 공원입니다.

작년에 시작되어 전 MMDA 회장과 현재 내무부 및 지방정부 장관인 벤저민 "벤허" 아바로스 주니어의 아이디어였던 입양-A-파크 프로젝트에 따라, LGU는 위치, 설계 및 비용 견적을 제공해야 하며, 반면 MMDA는 부지 선정의 기준을 정하고, 자금을 제공하고, 이를 이행해야 합니다.투영합니다.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority today inaugurated and turned over to Pasig City local government the Buting Linear Park in Barangay San Joaquin, Pasig as part of the agency’s Adopt-A-Park project.

The 800-meter park includes a new river wall and the development of green and play areas, which include big playsets for kids and an exercise equipment zone for adults.

According to MMDA Officer-in-Charge Director Baltazar Melgar, MMDA will identify more areas in coordination with the Metro Manila local government units to be rehabilitated as pocket parks.

"We will help the LGUs in identifying more places such as easements to be converted as open parks," he said, while also appealing to the barangay officials to maintain the cleanliness of the area.

For his part, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said that the Buting Linear Park is a great program of the MMDA in partnership with the LGU. He also underscored the importance of having open spaces and playgrounds that will benefit his constituents.

“These open spaces are good for both the physical and mental health of Pasigueños living around the area,” he said.

The mayor also said that developing parks will promote children's safety as they will now have a place to play that is monitored and supervised.

Pasig City Representative Roman Romulo, meanwhile, expressed commitment that the park will be well-maintained and well taken care of.

The Buting Linear Park, located near the San Joaquin Pasig River Ferry Station, will benefit residents of Barangay Buting and Barangay San Joaquin.

It is one of the 24 parks across Metro Manila that the MMDA is currently constructing/ rehabilitating.

The first park under the Adopt-A-Park Project is the MMDA-Valenzuela City Friendship Park in Barangay Bignay which was inaugurated last February.

Under the Adopt-A-Park project, which started last year and was the brainchild of former MMDA Chairman and now Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos, Jr., the LGU shall provide the location, design, and cost estimate, while the MMDA sets the criteria for site selection, provides funding, and implements the project.

Through this, the MMDA hopes to curb urban decay and reduce urban heat effects as well as provide safe and clean areas for family events and wellness activities, which are both important to the physical and mental health of the public.
