메트로폴리탄 마닐라 개발청(MMDA)은 도로 사용자의 안전을 보장하고 지역 교통 흐름의 혼잡 완화를 촉진하기 위해 Commonwealth Avenue를 따라 자전거, 공공 유틸리티 차량 및 오토바이 전용 차선을 설정할 계획입니다.

이는 메트로 마닐라 시장으로 구성된 메트로 마닐라 위원회(MMC)가 도로 사고를 방지하기 위해 그러한 승객과 운전자를 위한 전용 차선을 설정하기로 원칙적으로 동의한 후였습니다. MMDA 교통 공학 도로 충돌 통계 센터에 따르면 Commonwealth Avenue를 따라 오토바이와 관련된 총 1,010명의 치명적, 비치명적 및 재산 피해가 발생했습니다.

MMDA 회장 권한대행 "Carlo Dimayuga II"는 Quezon City 지방 자치 단체에서 권장하는 조정이 있을 때까지 오토바이 차선 설정이 구현될 것이라고 말했습니다.

디마유가 관계자는 “커먼웰스를 따라 오른쪽에서 세 번째 차선에 위치한 오토바이 전용 차로는 도로별 공사로 인해 차선 폭이 다소 차이가 있어 도로 사정에 따라 달라질 수 있다”고 말했다.

MMDA 결의 제22-15호에서 커먼웰스 애비뉴의 우측 최외곽선을 자전거전용도로로 지정한다. 같은 도로의 2차선과 3차선은 각각 공공차량전용차로(지프, UV익스프레스, 버스)와 오토바이 전용차로로 지정된다. Commonwealth Avenue의 나머지 차선은 다른 모든 차량이 사용합니다.

기관은 공공 사업 및 고속도로부 및 Quezon City LGU와 조정 및 협력하여 적절한 교통 표지를 설치하고 Commonwealth Avenue를 따라 Elliptical Road에서 Doña Carmen Subdivision까지 또는 그 반대로 지침으로 적절한 차선 표시를 적용해야 합니다. 운전자에게 그리고 서로의 전용 차선을 설명합니다.

[10.19] MMC Approves in Principle Establishment of Exclusive Motorcycle Lanes Along Commonwealth Avenue

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) plans to set up dedicated lanes for bicycles, public utility vehicles, and motorcycles along Commonwealth Avenue to ensure road user safety and facilitate congestion relief for local traffic flow.

This was after the Metro Manila Council (MMC), which comprises the Metro Manila Mayors, agreed in principle to set up dedicated lanes for such riders and motorists to prevent road accidents. There were a total of 1,010 fatal, non-fatal, and property damage injuries involving motorcycles along Commonwealth Avenue, according to the MMDA Center for Transportation Engineering Road Crash Statistics.

MMDA Acting Chairman Engr. "Carlo Dimayuga II, "I said that the set-up motorcycle lanes shall be implemented, pending the adjustments recommended by the Quezon City local government unit.

"Dimayuga," said, "The motorcycle lane, located in the third lane from the right along the Commonwealth, is subject to road conditions as there are some discrepancies in terms of lane width due to construction projects on different roads." 

In the MMDA Resolution No. 22-15, the right outermost lane of Commonwealth Avenue shall be designated as an exclusive bicycle lane. The second lane and third lane of the same avenue will be designated as exclusive Public Utility vehicles (for jeeps, UV Express, buses) and motorcycle lanes, respectively. The remaining lanes of Commonwealth Avenue shall be utilized by all other motor vehicles.

The agency, in coordination and cooperation with the Department of Public Works and Highways, as well as the Quezon City LGU shall install appropriate traffic signs and apply the proper lane markings along Commonwealth Avenue from Elliptical Road to Doña Carmen Subdivision and vice versa as a guide to motorists and to delineate the exclusive lanes from one another.

Further, the MMC also approved the implementation of a temporary truck ban along Roxas Boulevard while there is ongoing DPWH construction in the area, specifically in front of the U.S Embassy.

As stated in the MMDA Resolution No. 22-16, trucks and trailers, with a gross capacity weight of more than 4,500 kilograms, are temporarily prohibited from plying Roxas Boulevard, Manila to avoid deterioration and shall instead utilize the original truck routes from SLEX to Osmeña Highway to President Quirino Avenue or from Port Area to SLEX.

Meanwhile, Dimayuga also said that the agency will implement a moratorium on road diggings, except for the government’s flagship projects, from November 14 until January 2, as part of the MMDA’s traffic mitigation measures for the holidays.
