마닐라 - 팔라완 세관(BOC)은 일요일 약 530만 페소 상당의 밀수 담배를 폐기했다고 발표했습니다.

BOC는 푸에르토 프린세사 항만 수집기 "글레이디스 폰타닐라-에스트라다"를 통해 8월 16일부터 18일까지 담배 207상자와 3,507개의 렘을 파괴했으며, 푸에르토 프린세사 시 이라완에 있는 팔라완, "플로라" 및 "파우나" 분수령 보호구역에서 선적이 분쇄되고 물에 담겼습니다.

밀수된 담배의 파쇄는 필리핀 경찰 해양단, 필리핀 해안경비대 팔라완, 푸에르토 프린세사 국가수사국에서도 목격됐다고 BOC는 밝혔습니다.

앞서 지역 수집가 "Ma. Rhea M. Gregorio"는 관세법, 규칙 및 규정을 위반했다는 이유로 정부에 유리하게 배송을 몰수하도록 명령했습니다.

"에스트라다"는 밀수품이 "국가 경제뿐만 아니라 합법적인 사업에도 해를 끼치기 때문에" 밀수품을 후원하지 않도록 사람들에게 상기시키면서 불법 물품의 입국을 막기 위해 국경 보안을 "강화"할 것이라고 BOC를 보장했습니다.

MANILA — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) in Palawan announced on Sunday that it had scrapped about 5.3 million pesos worth of smuggled cigarettes.

The BOC, through Puerto Princesa Port Collector "Gladys Fontanilla-Estrada," destroyed  207 boxes of cigarettes and 3,507 reams from Aug. 16 to 18, the shipments were shredded and soaked in water at the Palawan, "Flora," and "Fauna" Watershed Reserve in Irawan, Puerto Princesa City. 

The shredding of the smuggled cigarettes was also witnessed by the Philippine National Police Maritime Group, Philippine Coast Guard Palawan, and the National Bureau of Investigation Puerto Princesa District Office, BOC said.

Earlier, the shipment was ordered forfeited by District Collector "Ma. Rhea M. Gregorio" is in favor of the government for violating customs laws, rules, and regulations.

"Estrada" assured the BOC that it would "strengthen" border security to prevent entry of illegal goods, reminding people not to patronize contraband "because it harms legitimate businesses as well as the national economy."
