마닐라 - 하원 의원, BARMM(무슬림 민다나오 방사모로 자치구) 지도자 및 제3자 모니터링 팀(TPMT)은 월요일에 만나 방사모로 평화 프로세스의 상태를 논의했습니다.

[10.25] BARMM leaders seek more engagements with the peace monitoring team

MANILA - Members of the House of Representatives, Leaders of the BARMM (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao), and the Third Party Monitoring Team (TPMT) met on Monday to discuss the status of the Bangsamoro peace process.

At the meeting, the BARMM governor expressed his views to the TPMT on the peace process with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

Sulu Governor "Abdusakur tan" has urged more frequent contact with the local government as TPMT officials are aware of what is happening on the ground.

"We would like to suggest you kindly engage with us more often, We want to sit down with you so that you would know what is on the ground, and you would know what have you reached, and what have you monitored, in so far as the progress of this peace process is concerned," he said.

TPMT Chairman "Heino Marius" and member "Sam Chittick" assured the committee would reunite with BARMM local officials to discuss existing and other issues raised during Monday's discussion.

Meanwhile, "Shernee Tan-Tambut," chairman of the House Special Committee on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity chairperson, said it was equally important to include local officials  in the dismantling process.

She also said the panel and local officials in the BARMM  would like to see a list of fighters to prevent corruption from occurring in the BARMM region.

“We just want to make sure the funds go where they are needed. Please remember that we provide BARMM with PHP70 billion in subsidies each year,” she explained. .

The Special Committee will resume discussion of the issue next month, inviting BARMM officials to further discuss the status of the BARMM peace process. (PNA)
