마닐라 – 필리핀 경찰(PNP)은 월요일 전국 어느 지역에서도 바랑가이 및 상구니앙 카바탄 선거(BSKE)가 연기된 것을 확인하지 못했다고 밝혔습니다.

이는 10월 30일 여론 조사를 앞두고 2,594개의 우려 지역 또는 선거 '핫스팟'이 확인되었음에도 불구하고 PNP 대표인 벤자민 아코다 주니어(Benjamin Acorda Jr.)가 케손시티 캠프 크레임에서 기자회견을 통해 말했습니다.

이 수치에는 "심각한 우려 지역" 또는 적색 범주로 분류된 246개 마을이 포함되어 있습니다. 주황색 카테고리에는 1,248개 마을, 노란색 카테고리에는 1,100개 지역이 포함됩니다.

Acorda는 이러한 "심각한 우려 지역"은 대부분 비콜(21), 동부 비사야(60), 무슬림 민다나오의 방사모로 자치구(BARMM)에서 151곳이라고 말했습니다.

그러나 그는 해당 지역의 정치적 분위기에 따라 이러한 사항이 언제든지 바뀔 수 있다고 지적했습니다.

빨간색 범주 아래 나열된 지역은 선거관리위원회(Comelec)의 통제 하에 있으며 여론 조사 기관은 이 지역의 보안군을 강화할 권한을 갖습니다.

노란색 지역은 지난 선거에서 선거 관련 사건의 이력이 있고, 게릴라 무장단체가 존재할 가능성이 있으며, 정치적 동기가 있는 선거 관련 사건이 발생한 것으로 알려져 있으며, 이전에 Comelec의 통제 하에 있다고 선언된 지역입니다.

한편, 주황색은 심각한 무력 위협이 있는 즉각적인 우려 지역을 의미합니다.

그는 또한 PNP가 올해 BSKE를 앞두고 38개의 잠재적 PAG와 4개의 활성 PAG를 면밀히 관찰하고 있다고 말했습니다.

BSKE 선거기간은 8월 28일부터 시작해 11월 29일 끝난다.(PNA)

[10.2] PNP sees no BSKE postponement

MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said it sees no postponement of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) in any area in the country.

This is despite the identification of 2,594 areas of concern or election 'hotspots' ahead of the Oct. 30 polls, PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. said in a presser at Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The number includes 246 villages classified as "areas of grave concern" or under the red category; 1,248 villages under the orange category and 1,100 areas under the yellow category.

Acorda said these "areas of grave concern" are mostly from Bicol (21) , Eastern Visayas (60) and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), which has 151.

He, however, noted that these may change anytime depending on the political climate in the areas.

“All areas will be simultaneously doing or conducting the BSKE as scheduled. There are some areas where we see the need to deploy additional troops like the BARMM. We have to send additional forces and our deputy chief for operations is already preparing and coordinating with other agencies," Acorda said.

Areas listed under the red category would be under Commission on Elections (Comelec) control and the poll body has the authority to augment security forces in these areas.

Yellow areas are known to have a history of election-related cases in the last elections, possible presence of partisan armed groups, occurrence of politically motivated election-related cases and had been previously declared under Comelec control.

Orange, meanwhile, means areas of immediate concern where there is a serious armed threat.

He also said the PNP is keeping a close watch on 38 potential PAGs and four active PAGs ahead of the BSKE this year.

The election period for the BSKE started on Aug. 28 and will end Nov. 29. (PNA)
