마닐라 – 국가경제개발청(NEDA)의 "아르세니오 발리사칸" 장관은 금요일 이스라엘-하마스 전쟁이 주요 산유국으로 확산되지 않는 한 필리핀 경제에 큰 영향을 미치지 않을 것이라고 말했습니다.

그는 “현재까지 공급망에 큰 차질이 발생하지 않았기 때문에 영향은 거의 없다”고 말했다.

"발리사칸"은 필리핀이 이스라엘과 팔레스타인에 "거의" 노출되지 않는다고 말했습니다.

"우리는 노동 고용, 무역, 투자 등 모든 측면에서 이스라엘과 팔레스타인 모두에 거의 노출되지 않았습니다. 그것이 다른 나라로 유출되어 석유 공급에 영향을 미치지 않는 한, 우리는 그 영향을 느낄 것입니다. 그러나 현재로서는 우리는 그걸 안 본다"고 말했다.

정부는 앞서 이스라엘 분쟁으로 피해를 입은 해외 필리핀 근로자들을 송환할 준비가 되어 있다고 밝혔습니다.

[10.14] NEDA: Israel-Hamas war will have no major impact on PH economy

MANILA – National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary "Arsenio Balisacan" said Friday the Israel-Hamas war will likely have no major impact on the Philippine economy as long as it will not spill over to major oil-producing countries.

In a televised briefing at Malacañan Palace in Manila, "Balisacan" said he recently met with President "Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr." to discuss the war's possible impact on the economy.

He said that so far, "there's hardly any impact because there has been no major disruptions in the supply chain."

"Oil has increased a bit but we don't know if that's just an initial reaction but the impact is so negligible," "Balisacan" said.

"I guess the question is whether the conflict will spread. Then that's another matter, if it gets into the supply chain affecting the global movements of trade then, the effects can be more substantial. But as of this date, we don't see any major impact on the economy," he added.

"Balisacan" said the Philippines has “very little” exposure to Israel and Palestine.

"We have very little exposure with both Israel and the Palestine in all dimensions –whether it's labor employment or trade and investment. Unless that spills into the other countries and it affects the supply of oil, we will feel the impact but as of now we are not seeing that," he said.

The government earlier assured that it is ready to repatriate overseas Filipino workers affected by the conflict in Israel.

The Department of Migrant Workers reported that as of Oct. 12, it has received 22 requests for repatriation. (PNA)
