마닐라 – 한국 조선소 현대중공업(HHI)은 필리핀 해군이 주문한 미사일 코르벳함 2척 중 1척이 2025년까지 인도되고 두 번째는 이듬해 인도될 것이라고 밝혔다.

"우리는 2025년까지 첫 번째 코르벳함, 2026년까지 두 번째 코르벳함을 인도할 계획입니다. HHI는 선박 건조가 제때에 맞춰 목표 인도일을 순조롭게 진행하고 있습니다"라고 필리핀 통신사(PNA)에 회신했습니다. 주말 동안 두 해군 함정의 진행 상황에 관한 질문.

현대중공업은 올해 5월 건설이 시작되면서 코르벳함 작업 일정이 예정대로 진행됐다고 덧붙였다.

첫 번째 코르벳함은 당초 예정된 일정인 2023년 5월에 맞춰 작업에 착수했으며, 첫 번째 블록은 올해 11월까지 건설될 예정이다.

현대중공업은 해군에서 군함 건조의 시작으로 간주하는 철강 절단 작업을 언급한 것이다.

또한 두 번째 코르벳함의 건설이 올 11월에 시작될 것이라고 덧붙였습니다.

국방부(DND)는 2021년 12월 27일 PN용 신형 코르벳함 2척을 인수하기 위해 현대중공업과 280억 PHP 규모의 계약을 체결했습니다. 이 코르벳함은 대함, 대잠수함 및 작전 능력이 있습니다. 대공전 임무를 수행하며 호세 리잘급 호위함보다 더 중무장할 것입니다.

이들 함선은 역시 현대중공업이 제작한 해군의 Jose Rizal급 호위함 두 척을 방어할 것입니다. (PNA)

[10.2] S. Korean firm to deliver PH's 1st missile corvette in 2025

MANILA – South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) said one of the two missile corvettes ordered by the Philippine Navy (PN) will be delivered by 2025 with the second in the following year.

"We plan to deliver the first corvette by 2025 and the second corvette by 2026. HHI is on track for the target delivery dates as the construction of the vessels are on time," the company said in reply to the Philippine News Agency's (PNA) questions over the weekend regarding the progress of the two naval craft.

HHI added that the work schedule for the corvettes proceeded on schedule as construction started this May.

"For the first corvette, the work commenced according to (the) original planned scheduled schedule of May 2023 and the first block will be laid by November this year," the South Korean shipbuilder emphasized.

HHI was referring to the steel cutting which is considered in naval circles as the start of the construction of a warship.

It also added that construction for the second corvette will start this November.

The Department of National Defense (DND) signed a PHP 28-billion contract with HHI for the acquisition of two brand-new corvettes for the PN on Dec. 27, 2021. The corvettes are capable of anti-ship, anti-submarine, and anti-air warfare missions and will be more heavily armed than the Jose Rizal-class frigates.

These ships will backstop the two Navy's Jose Rizal-class frigates, also constructed by HHI. (PNA)
