메트로폴리탄 마닐라 개발청(MMDA)은 금요일 아침 무임승차 프로그램을 시작했습니다.

MMDA 회장 대행. "칼로 디마유가"는 7대의 MMDA 버스와 2대의 육군 트럭이 커먼웰스 애비뉴의 도냐 카르멘을 따라 케존 애비뉴-웰컴 로톤다로 가는 프로그램에 할당되었다고 말했습니다.

그 프로그램은 월요일부터 금요일까지 오전 6시부터 11시까지 그리고 오후 3시부터 6시까지 운영될 것입니다.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Agency (MMDA) launched a Free Ride program Friday morning.

Acting chairman of MMDA. "Carlo Dimayuga," said seven (7) MMDA buses and two (2) Army trucks were allocated to the program along Commonwealth Avenue's Doña Carmen to Quezon Avenue-Welcome Rotonda and vice-versa.

The program will run from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday to Friday. 

"Dimayuga," said the Free Ride will help solve the congestion problem along Commonwealth Avenue during rush hour.

It will also help commuters, especially students, get on the bus more easily, he said. 

The new summit welcomes students as more schools return to face-to-face classes.

"We added two (2) more buses because traffic peaks around 5:30 p.m. This program will continue to operate and we will not stop."

The official said the Free Ride program will serve about 500 to 600 passengers every day.

Mayor of Quezon City "Joy Belmont" said he appreciated the MMDA plan to strengthen a separate program for Free Rides by local governments.

Quezon City's Free Ride program has 109 buses running eight (8) different routes to help commuters.

"There is no deadline for this, and this program will continue until the end of my term," Belmont said.

"Hopefully the next Mayor will pick this up. This is a great help to the public. When we talk to commuters, they say they were able to save 3,000 pesos a month, she added.

Some commuters appreciated the Free Ride program.

"Aries Serbanda," who has to commute every day for work, said the program will help him get to work on time and reduce travel costs.

"It helps and is convenient to save money on travel."

Others said they  hope the program will continue with the resumption of face-to-face classes.
