마닐라 – 일요일 필리핀군(PA)은 3,000명의 필리핀군과 미군이 2023년 반복되는 "Salaknib" [SHIELD] 군사 훈련에 참가할 것이라고 발표했습니다.

"PA와 USARPAC(미 태평양군) 기획자는 활동 과정에서 내년 '살라크닙'의 기반을 마련했습니다. USARPAC의 제25보병사단과 PA에서 약 3,000명의 병력이 이번 훈련에 참가할 예정입니다. 육군 대변인 크세르크세스 트리니다드(Xerxes Trinidad)는 성명을 통해 중부와 북부 루손과 민다나오에서 열릴 예정이라고 밝혔다.

지난 9월 5일부터 9일까지 Pasay City의 Hotel Conrad에서 2023년 "Salaknib"에 대한 일주일 간의 계획이 진행되었습니다.

일로카노어로 방패를 의미하는 "살라크닙"은 다양한 군사 작전에서 필리핀과 미국 군대의 상호 운용성을 강화하기 위한 연례 연합 훈련입니다.

PA 국장 "Romeo Brawner Jr." 앞서 그는 연례 연합 훈련이 "자유롭고 개방된 인도-태평양 지역을 유지하기 위한 공동 목표 추구"에 기여할 필리핀과 미국 간의 "오랜 양국 관계"에 대한 증거라고 말했습니다.

약 2,200명의 필리핀군과 미군이 올해 1분기 동안 중앙 루손에서 훈련을 받았으며, 이는 PA의 주요 결합 무기인 1여단 전투팀의 능력 개발과 신속 배치 부대에 중점을 두었습니다.

[9.12] The 3000 Filipino and US troops are set to join the ‘Salaknib’ drills next year.

MANILA – The Philippine Army (PA) on Sunday announced that 3,000 Filipino and American troops will be participating in the 2023 iteration of the "Salaknib" [SHIELD] military exercise.

"PA and USARPAC (US Army Pacific) planners, during the course of the activity, laid out the foundation for next year's 'Salaknib'. Nearly 3,000 troops from the USARPAC's 25th Infantry Division and the PA are set to take part in the exercise's two phases that will be held in Central and Northern Luzon and Mindanao," Army spokesperson Col. "Xerxes Trinidad" said in a statement.

The week-long planning for "Salaknib" 2023 took place last Sept. 5 to 9 at the Hotel Conrad in Pasay City.

"Salaknib", which means shield in Ilocano, is an annual combined exercise geared at strengthening the interoperability of both Filipino and American armies in a spectrum of military operations.

PA chief Lt. Gen. "Romeo Brawner Jr." earlier said the annual combined exercise is a testament to the "long-standing bilateral relations” between the Philippines and the US that will contribute to the “pursuit of a common goal of maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific region."

Around 2,200 Filipino and US Army troops trained in Central Luzon during the first quarter of this year which focused on capability development of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, the PA's primary combined arms, and rapid deployment unit.
