마닐라 — 필리핀 보건부(DOH)에 따르면 일요일에 2,367명의 새로운 COVID-19 사례를 기록했습니다.

 총 3,920,693명이 증가했습니다.

35명의 새로운 사망자도 기록되어 호흡기 질환으로 사망한 국가의 총 인구는 62,549명으로 증가했습니다.

누적 확진자는 2만6401명, 완치자는 383만1743명이다.

새로 보고된 감염 중 1,080명은 메트로 마닐라에서 발생했습니다.

ABS-CBN 데이터분석팀장 에드슨 귀도(Edson Guido)는 9월 11~17일 주간 양성률이 13.2%로 지난주 12.3%보다 높다고 말했다.

주간 양성률이 증가한 것은 8월 초 이후 처음이다.

9월 5일부터 11일까지 하루 평균 확진자는 2197명으로 전주 대비 10% 감소했다.

그 주의 새로운 감염 중 12%(0.09%)가 심각하고 치명적이었습니다.

일요일 현재, COVID-19 입원의 727 또는 9.6%가 심각하고 위독한 상태라고 DOH는 말했습니다.

코로나19 환자를 위한 중환자실 병상 2,485개 중 594개(23.9%)가 차 있었다. 한편 비중환자실 병상 이용률은 28.2%였다.

이 나라에서 최소 7,280만 명이 호흡기 질환에 대한 완전한 예방접종을 받았으며 그 중 1,880만 명이 추가 접종을 받았습니다.

세계보건기구(WHO)는 수요일 전 세계적으로 새로 보고된 COVID-19 사례 수가 급격히 감소했다고 밝혔다.

테워드로스 아드하놈 거브러여수스 WHO 사무총장은 2019년 말에 확인된 이후 수백만 명이 사망한 이 질병의 새로 보고된 사례가 2020년 3월 이후 최저 수준으로 떨어졌다고 말했습니다.

그는 기자들에게 "우리는 전염병을 종식시키기에 더 나은 위치에 있었던 적이 없다"고 말했다. "아직 거기까지는 아니지만 끝이 보인다."

[9.18]The Philippines confirms 35 deaths and 2,367 new cases of COVID-19

MANILA — The Philippines recorded 2,367 new cases of COVID-19  on Sunday, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

The country increased by a total of 3,920,693.

Thirty-five new deaths were also recorded, increasing the total number of people in the country who succumbed to the respiratory disease to 62,549.

Active cases stood at 26,401, while those who recovered from the illness is now reached 3,831,743.

Of the newly reported infections, 1,080 are from Metro Manila.

The positivity rate for the week of September 11 to 17 is at 13.2 percent, higher than last week’s 12.3 percent, ABS-CBN Data Analytics Team head "Edson Guido" said.

This is also the first time since early August that the weekly positivity rate increased.

From Sept. 5 to 11, the country recorded an average of 2,197 daily infections, which is 10 percent lower compared to the previous week.

Of the new infections that week, 12 or 0.09 percent were severe and critical.

As of Sunday, 727 or 9.6 percent of COVID-19 admissions were in severe and critical condition, the DOH said.

Some 594 or 23.9 percent of 2,485 intensive care unit beds for COVID-19 patients were occupied. Meanwhile, the non-ICU bed utilization rate was at 28.2 percent.

At least 72.8 million people in the country have been fully vaccinated against the respiratory disease, of whom 18.8 million have received their booster shots.

The World Health Organization said on Wednesday that the number of newly reported COVID-19 cases globally has dropped dramatically, urging the world to seize the opportunity to end the pandemic.

Newly reported cases of the disease, which has killed millions since being identified in late 2019, last week fell to the lowest level since March 2020, said WHO chief "Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus." 

"We have never been in a better position to end the pandemic," he told reporters. "We are not there yet, but the end is in sight."
