[10.11] 'Stationary' Maymay will bring rains, and gusty winds over Isabela

MANILA – Isabela will experience rains and gusts of winds due to Tropical Depression (TD) Maymay, which was last spotted 265 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday afternoon Maymay recorded maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center, and gusts of up to 55 kph. 

PAGASA described Maymay's current movement as "almost stopped."This morning, Maymay was moving northeastward at 20 kph.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 continues to be accounted for the northernmost regions of Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta), including Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, and the Polillo Islands

PAGASA added that floods and landslides can occur normally rains and sometimes with heavy rains.

Strong winds also allow for minimal and minor threats to life and property.

Meanwhile, the shear line will throw widespread showers and thunderstorms over Batangas, Cagayan, Apayao, and Kalinga.

Occasional torrential rains can cause flooding and landslides in the area.

Both Maymay and the shear line will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to the rest of Cordillera Cagayan Valley regions, and provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Aurora Regions

The rest of the area will be showered due to local thunderstorms.

Strong winds and rough seas dominate the northern Luzon region.

Winds are expected to be normal and strong in the rest of Luzon, and seas are expected to be normal and rough.
